As a tribute to the 215 children whose remains were found at the former Kamloops Residential School on Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc First Nation, Elgin staff will be placing commemorative items (e.g., flowers, plants, shoes, stuffies, messages, shirts, poems, etc…..) on the chain link fence in the back field.
We would like to invite members of the school community to take part in this commemoration as well. If you would like to take part, please only place objects that you are willing to part with (items may be lost, stolen or become weathered) and ensure that the item is easily detachable from the fence. Items can be placed until June 30.
Thank you for your consideration.
